How much solar
does your home need?

Start with your electricity bill and backup needs.
Get an energy-based estimate, then refine it with a free survey.

01

Your electricity use

Use the average of 12 bills if available. One summer or winter bill can give a misleading annual estimate.

Use a representative bill amount ÷ its units for the effective rate, excluding arrears and one-off fees. If you do not know this rate, enter billed units instead. Published tariff slabs are not the same as your all-in cost.

02

Your loadshedding needs

Enter continuous backup hours, not the sum of separate outages. Add the average power of the appliances you need during that outage. Leave at 0 hours if no backup is needed.

Roof and battery assumptions

Battery defaults are planning assumptions, not product guarantees. Solar data assumes a south-facing 30° array, ventilated mounting, and 14% system losses. Nearby shade is not included unless you add an allowance.

No contact details needed to see your result. See the method and data sources.

On-grid or
hybrid solar?

Different configurations serve different needs.
Here’s a practical starting point.

Grid-connected solar

Generate power during the day while your property remains connected to the electricity grid.

Best starting point
Daytime electricity use
Battery storage
Not part of a standard grid-tied setup
During an outage
A standard grid-tied inverter shuts down
Discuss grid-connected solar

Hybrid solar & battery

Combine solar generation and compatible storage, with a design that can support selected backup loads.

Best starting point
Generation plus essential-load backup
Battery storage
Sized around the agreed backup loads
During an outage
Supports loads within system limits
Explore hybrid & storage

Actual performance depends on sunlight, site conditions, equipment, connected loads, and operating settings. Final design and connection requirements are assessed for your project.

Questions about
going solar?

Here are a few things people ask us
before booking a site visit.

Ask our team
What does a solar EPC company do?+

EPC means engineering, procurement, and construction. RENS brings system design, equipment sourcing, installation, and commissioning into a coordinated project.

What size solar system do I need?+

The right size depends on your electricity use, available space, daytime demand, and backup needs. Share recent electricity bills and site details during your consultation so the proposal can be based on your needs.

Will solar work during a power outage?+

A standard grid-tied system generally shuts down during an outage. Backup requires a suitable hybrid or off-grid configuration, compatible batteries, and correctly designed circuits. We can discuss these options with you.

Can I add battery storage?+

Often, yes. Compatibility depends on the inverter, electrical design, and your backup requirements. We assess these before recommending a battery setup.

How do I get a proposal?+

Send a consultation request or call +92 339 2225577. Start with your location, property type, and electricity use. The team can then discuss the site assessment and next steps.
